Kilmarnock Junior Ice Hockey Club 2006/07 Season Starts 4th August Kilmarnock Junior Ice Hockey Club can provide youngsters at all ages and at all levels with the opportunity to play this fantastic game. We always make new members feel very welcome. Our beginners' training sessions are held on Friday nights from 7.15pm 8.30pm at the Galleon Centre. Our team of qualified and well-established Coaches work with the Beginners Group to teach them basic ice hockey skills with a view to players progressing as quickly as possible through the Learn to Play Group into one of the teams playing competitive hockey. New to the game? The Learn To Play Group is set up to cater for youngsters aged 5-13 years. You don't need to know the rules of the game, or even to be a great skater. Just come along and give it a try. You'll be hooked! The Learn To Play players are divided up into groups according to their individual skills level. The Coaches and Skating Instructor train to the level of the majority of players in each of the groups. Progression is taken at the player's own pace with much encouragement and support being provided along the way. The beginners' training session costs just £3.00 per session and we'll give you a loan of a helmet, a stick and some skates. Once the Coaches reckon that you could safely play competitive ice hockey, you will be invited to join the league team for your age group. In the 2006/07 season we have an Under-10's, an Under-12's and Under-14's team, and maybe an SNL team. Played before? If you have had a go at playing ice hockey before and would like to join one of the Kilmarnock teams, just come along and the Coaches will give you a 'try out'. If you can keep up with the pace of play you can move straight into a team. Interested? Please call Bob Paton on 01563 524142 Team Manager to arrange to come along to a training session. He will be pleased to answer any questions you might have about the Club and he will arrange for someone to welcome you on your first night and show you around. |
